Hey, BC, I saw this review on this film while doing a wander through your earlier reviews. I have never seen it but I do have a general understanding of what it is about. I wanted to ask someone who has seen it do you think the violence and gore it depicted was gratuitous, unnecessary, or is it integral to the story? I sometimes have my doubts as to it’s value in storytelling.

Very good question Kim. A SERBIAN FILM certainly crosses the line of acceptability for most people. It’s beautifully made and is also an unpleasant experience. If the upsetting scenes were removed, the films power to stay with you forever will be diluted.
